Fancy Nancy Inspired Nail Art!

My daughter is turning 4 and we are throwing her a Fancy Nancy party.  Here's is the invitation:

In the spirit of this theme, I thought it would be fun to paint nails with her to match her party!!  We love to play in the polish together!

I went to Walgreens to look for supplies, and since I have their app on my iPhone, look what pops up when I walk in the door:

It knows I'm there.  More stores should have something similar.  I've really been digging Balance Rewards & figuring out ways to to earn more points.

One of the first things I came across was this Sally Hansen display.  People are really into doing all kinds of fun things to their nails right now.  I want to try color blocking my nails sometime:

Here are the goodies I found in the Sally Hansen section & decided to use for our manicures:

Here's a link to a  Pinterest party where 1 winner will win  a year's supply of Sally Hansen products!
BTW, The Xtreme, Salon Effects, Diamond & Insta Dri polishes are $1 off until 5/25

On the Walgreens website you look for products based on what kind of look you want to achieve:

I thought of making purple with white polka dots to match this Fancy Nancy dress:

Also yellow & white chevron to match the invitation and cake.  Lastly, zebra print to match the invitation envelope & cake.  The combination is very wild & crazy like Fancy Nancy!

Look at these precious little fingers:

It helped to use these separators to keep her from smudging her nails.
It was a little tough putting the stickers on a toddler finger, but I used finger nail clippers to shape them.

It was super easy to do the chevron & polka dots with the white nail pen.  You just draw them right on & it's not very tricky.  Make sure you don't get too much on the tip of the pen at once though.  You will get a huge puddle on your nail!

I really know nothing about nails/nail art, but they still turned out pretty cute:

Here's a picture of our nails next to her birthday cake. I'm so excited for her party!!

Katie's New Dress

This past week I made Katie a new dress.  I found a FREE pattern here from The Cottage Home.
Being new to sewing, I had to do a little part each day or I would get too overwhelmed.  That made it much more simple for me.  She had easy to follow directions and good tips.  Here's how it turned out:
